Hey all I'm 31weeks pregnant with my first and I was wodnering whether to get a thin cot quilt or just use a few thin blankets to keepy the baby warm? I don't want to get a cot bumper for obvious reasons...I'm considering gettin one of them grow bags to put her in to keep her warm...will I need additional thin blankets to make sure she is warm enough? and should I delay getting a quilt until she is old enough?-

gro bags are great I still have my 14 month old daughter in one. You shouldnt use them until the baby is at least 8 lb so when she was tiny I swaddled her in a cellular blanket and tucked another blanket around her. With the gro bags you do not need any extra blankets, get a 2.5 tog for winter and a 1 tog for hot nights. Depending on the temperature of the room adjust the clothing the baby wears eg vest and sleepsuit, just sleepsuit, just long sleeved vest etc many of the gro bags actually have a chart in the packaging telling you what clothes to put on the baby for different temps, very useful. I wouldnt get a quilt until baby is at least 1 and glad you not getting a bumper as I woke one morning to find my daughter had her head behind it when she was about 5 months so would never use one agian . hope this helps

Are Cot bedding bumpers a full bumper around the crib.....?
There is bedding that I was from the UK ( I am from Canada) but from the pictures it looks like the bumpers for "cot beds" (which I am assuming they say Cot instead of Crib) doesn't look like it goes around the whole crib.....
